Jacky is a friendly and enthusiastic registered psychologist who offers assessment and therapy services for children and adolescents at ACPC. He is a long term team member having completed his internship and Clinical Registrar Program at ACPC and becoming endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist.
Jacky is proficient in delivering psychological interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), behavioural management, parent training, and social skills/ emotional regulation training. He has worked with children and adolescents with various presentations including anxiety, emotion regulation problems, attentional difficulties, challenging behaviours, and social skills deficits. Jacky is experienced with conducting cognitive and learning assessments, and is also available for preschool/school observations to provide recommendations for supporting a child’s learning and development. Jacky is also experienced in administering various assessments including diagnostic assessment for autism spectrum disorders after receiving adequate training.
Jacky has had extensive experience working with children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder since his early career years. He was trained as an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapist from Lizard’s Children Centre and has previously delivered early intensive therapy to children presenting with challenging behaviours and social skills difficulties at ABAlink. He currently uses a mixed approach combining some ABA principles as well other models (e.g. social skills development, relationship development etc.) depending on the individual's profile.
Jacky Au is a fully registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Jacky completed his Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of Sydney with First Class Honours and furthered his studies with the completion of a Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. He has published his Masters thesis on the relationship between circadian rhythms and mood disorders in the Journal of Affective Disorders.
Jacky works at the main office delivering both Face to Face and online services via video conferencing.
